The experienced
therapists at Western Physical Therapy possess a clear understanding
of the relationship between a patient's health and their function.
This knowledge allows the therapists to design effective treatment
plans and clearly communicate the goals of treatment to all
appropriate parties.
Early
communication between the patient and all the health care
providers allows for treatment goals to be established quickly
and appropriately. Within 48 hours of a patient evaluation
the physician and case manager can expect a written report
or phone call regarding the patient. The prognosis for
the patient's improvement, and plans for patient health management
strategies are discussed.
It
is the goal of Western Physical Therapy that each client understand
how their current condition relates to their overall health
and their function. Patients are instructed in how best
to manage acute symptoms and care for themselves in ways which
promote healing. Each patient's treatments are designed
within the context of their health, and with the goal of improving
their level of function.
At
the conclusion of each treatment the patient will know what
s/he needs to know to best manage their symptoms, promote
their health, and maximize their function. A course
of therapy is concluded when the patient possesses the knowledge
to control their basic symptoms and understands what they
can do to improve their level of function.
